Formed in 2005, Centennial Diving is part of the Centennial Aquatic Club, and originated with a goal to continue improving the caliber of diving in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
By 2006 Centennial Divers were qualifying for USA Nationals, by 2007 we had our first international competitor representing the USA, and by 2011 we had our first Olympic Trials qualifier. Centennial Diving has qualified divers to the USA Diving Junior Nationals every year since 2006 and will be represented by three divers this year at the USA Diving National Championships in Orlando Florida in six events.
At the high school level, our divers have represented high school diving teams in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey where they have gone onto the state championships and some have garnered state championship titles. Many have earned All American Accolades for their performances.
Some Centennial Diving graduates went on to dive in college including: Duke University, Cal Berkley, University of North Carolina, University
of Georgia, University of Virginia, Boston College, (RIT) Rochester Institute of Technology, West Chester University, Marshall University, Denison University, Wagner College, United States Navel Academcy, and La Salle University.
Instruction for a sport such as diving requires athletes to be taught fundamental skills both in and out of the water. By utilizing dry-land skills including strength and flexibility conditioning as well as trampoline and tumbling, divers are able to sequentially move from the basic to more complex dives based on their individual ability.
As with previous years, the 2016 & 2017 Centennial Diving season offers programs from beginner, to high school, as well as our year-round AAU and USA Diving Junior Olympic competitors.
Our mission is to promote the sport of diving to ALL levels of ability by teaching the proper mechanics, techniques and progressions essential to success.
